Tokusatsu is a Japanese term that describes a genre of entertainment which usually features kaiju (giant monsters), giant robots and superheroes. It is most often associated with the Godzilla and Gamera franchises and with such popular Japanese television dramas as “Ultraman” and “Kamen Rider.” It literally means “special effects”.
Tokusatsu Press is dedicated to publishing novels that lean toward YA fiction, in genres such as action/adventure, science fiction, fantasy, steampunk, and horror that would easily fit in the above description.
